Our commitment to the Earth
From the dream of a Romagnola grandmother, almost 60 years ago, Hotel Elios was born.
Now in 2021 we improved that dream, making it more and more sustainable. Because our territory, our traditions, this whole beautiful world that we have, they need us!
So from now on, we will try to think and act in a more sustainable manner, both on social and ecological aspects. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals will guide us along the path: ONU set these global aims in order to have a less polluted and a more equal world by 2030.

We will start with simple things: recycling bins on the hall, on floors, and at the beach.
Second, at the restaurant, we will try to avoid single-use products and plastic packaging.
Actually, our #plasticless motto will be extended, as much as possible, to the whole hotel, from the kitchen to the cleanings, to the office, preferring cardboard or other biodegradable materials.
Also, we will keep using and promoting local products. On our dining tables it is possible to find the Sangiovese wine of Bertinoro, the salt from Cervia, and fresh mussel just arrived in the Bellaria harbour!

Furthermore, we started a collaboration with Treedom, with who we are creating our Elios forest!
This will allow us, in the next months and years, to plant trees in some underdeveloped countries. In this way we are able to help developing local societies, in addition to the nature itself.

Last but not least, we have another project in order to have an immediate effect on environment and its protection. We adopted an apiary!
Unfortunately, bees are disappearing in nature, so we thought we might help Miele Praconi in his work.
So again, we are helping bees repopulate and also support beekeepers of our territory.

We do try to keep this dream alive and going, which is not properly mine or yours, it’s everybody’s. Because the Earth needs all of us.
